PELLEGRINI CLAIMS WILSHERE WORTHS $100M

Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that Premier League side West Ham have got a $100m player in their ranks in Jack Wilshere.

The former Arsenal midfielder who joined the London club on a free transfer in the summer after quitting the Emirates, is back in action for West Ham following a two month injury layoff which left him on the sidelines.
The 26 year old has struggled with fitness issues throughout his West Ham career but the Hammers gaffer says it is worth the risk owing to his immense quality.

Ahead of the game against Cardiff tonight, Manuel Pellegrini said, “Players of the quality of Wilshere can cost a club $100m, $90m, $70m? Good creative midfielders are just very expensive. He wanted to play at West Ham, we took the risk”.

“The first few months have not been the best for him but we have the second part of the season and I hope he will play most games”.

But the Chilean is eager to see the creative midfielder find his spark for the Hammers. He spoke of risky he knew the signing of Jack Wilshere – a player who found it hard to nail down a permanent spot in the first team at Arsenal for many years – was, but he was impressed with the player’s loan spell at Bournemouth last season, where he played about 65 percent of the games.

Wilshere came in for a five minute cameo in Saturday’s3-0 win at Newcastle United and that will be his first step on a long road back to fitness.

“Another player who has worked really hard to fight his way back to fitness ““under the new boss “ is Robert Snodgrass.

The 31 year old winger is expected to once again be in the engine room against Cardiff tonight having been told he was too fat in the summer.
