Rooney believes that winning the FA Cup can lead United to a new era

Manchester United made their way through the finals of the FA Cup after having defeated Everton with a scoreboard of 2-1 and they are now one step closer of sealing the piece of silverware that Manchester United has not won since the season of 2003-04.

Louis van Gaal and his men are now in the finals of the English competition and will be facing off with Crystal Palace on May 21. Wayne Rooney is certain that if his team is able to win this competition and become the new champions of the FA Cup, it can push Manchester United to a title winning generation of young players.

Wayne Rooney is certain that there are enough rising stars in Manchester United that can guide the Premier League club to a period of time where they only win competitions and add pieces of silverware to their collection.

“Winning the FA Cup would be great for us and can hopefully be the start of us getting back and winning new trophies. The start of a new era? That is what we are hoping for. We haven’t had it easy over the last couple of years so if we win the cup then it will be a huge stepping stone for us.’’

“The FA Cup has history behind it. I have been to watch FA Cup finals when I was younger and played in two and lost the two of them. Hopefully this can be the year. Obviously it’s early days, especially for Rashford, he’s a young lad and hasn’t played many games but the impact he has had has been huge for us in the last couple of months.’’ Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney said.

Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard are just a few of the more renowned rising stars that are performing with Manchester United and Wayne Rooney is expecting them to guide the club to success.
